An Unwelcome Visitor Named Irene

As all of you know, the east coast is bracing for Hurricane Irene and has already begun in the Carolinas and is headed north towards where I live in Connecticut. As I am concerned for everyone’s safety, I have put together a list of things to do beforehand:

Please be sure to contact any elderly or disabled family members or friends that need supplies or have them stay with you until the storm passes.

Make sure to stock up on groceries, bottled water, flashlights, batteries, candles and have a portable radio to listen to the local news in case evacuation is necessary. Keep your cell phone charged, gas tank filled in the car, and a bag packed in case you need to leave immediately.

Stay safe everyone, we’ll get through this! ❤
