Neon Flower Coasters

These flower coasters are very easy to make and would like great in any color!  They also make great face scrubbies to include in a gift basket!

Materials:

1 Ball each Lily Sugar & Cream cotton yarn, white (a) and your choice of contrasting color (b)

Size H/8 Crochet Hook

Tapestry Needle

Special Stitches:

beg cluster: ch 3, yo, insert hook in sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on the hook, yo and draw through all 3 loops on the hook.

Cluster: yo, insert hook in space indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on the hook, yo, draw through all three loops on the hook, yo, draw through all 4 loops on the hook.

Round 1: With a, ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring, work beg cluster, ch 2, (cl, ch 2) around, join in beg. cl, fasten off (8 clusters).

Round 2:  with b, Join with a sl st in small loop to the left of any cluster (not directly on top of cl), ch 1, sc in same stitch (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp,* sc in next loop to the left of next cl, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp**, repeat from * to **, sl st in beg sc.

Round 3: ch 1, sc in same st, *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch 1 sp, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, join in beg sc, fasten off.

Round 4: with a, join with a sl st in any sc, ch 1, sc in same st, *sc in next 3 dcs  (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch 1 space, sc in next 3 dc**, sc in next sc, repeat from *,to **  join in beg sc., fasten off, weave in ends.

    i like your neon flower coasters but it would help if you could tell m how many clusters there should be to start the coasters hope you get back soon as i reall would like to crochet these coasters thank you.

      Hi Janet,

      I’m glad you like the pattern! There are eight clusters to start. I will make a note of that in the pattern. You should also begin a chain 3 before the beginning cluster and I will make a note of that also.
